Reduces Hand Tremor

Get back to doing the things you love to do – with ‘Steadi-One’.
This phenomenal battery-free glove will stabilise hand tremor, for people that have Essential tremor & Parkinson's Disease.

How Steadi-One works

Steadi-One is based on cutting edge technology inspired from earthquake stabilisers. Tremors can be debilitating and cause the simplest of daily activities such as eating, drinking and writing to be an absolute challenge. Steadi-One works with you to stabilise the wrist joint and achieve these activities with more ease, comfort and control.

The Steadi-One is designed to work most effectively for people with tremors in the wrist and forearm.

The glove works instantly once it is on. You slip on the non-binding wrist glove, and adjust it to fit your hand and wrist, using the steadi-one’s fast, durable BOA®Fit System. There are two core technologies that make the glove work:

The Ball Joint Damper

The damper is based on a smart fluid that is very similar to cornstarch and water. When a cornstarch and water mixture is exposed to high speeds, it quickly turns into a solid. Our fluid was designed to stiffen instantly in the presence of tremors, while allowing voluntary motion. The fluid is placed in a cavity with a ball which is then paired to the hand.

A great help to those of us who live with shaky hands.

Simply genius

Reem Korban

I have shaky hands because of essential tremors. I found a medical device called a Steadiwear glove that really helps to control my shaking right hand. I can now eat soup in a restaurant, Hooray!

The Tuned Mass Damper

Tuned mass dampers have been used to stabilise skyscrapers against earthquakes. A small mass moves in the opposite direction to tremors providing resistance. Both systems are combined to provide stabilisation to the wrist and forearm without the use of batteries or electronics.

The Steadi-One is designed to work most effectively for people with tremors in the wrist and forearm.

The Steadi-one system allows full range of motion while resisting multiple tremor directions that are proven to be the most common in Essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease.

The Steadi-One stabilizer unit contains a small magnet. If you are undergoing an MRI, have a cardiac pacemaker or other implantable medical electronic devices, please consult your healthcare provider prior to using the glove.

For the Steadi-One we recommend that you wash the Lycra glove after every 2 weeks of regular use or when you feel it’s necessary. Before you wash the glove, the dampers should be detached:

  1. Gently unfasten the Velcro rubber cover from the back harness.
  2. Gently press the front harness release down until you hear a small click.
  3. Pull the damping system up and forward until the rod completely slides out of the tube.

You can wash your glove with different methods:

  • Machine wash in gentle cycle (cold water). Place glove in portable pouch before putting into the washing machine.
  • Hang to dry or tumble dry on low heat setting.
  • Hand-wash with warm water.

Practice good housekeeping to keep dust and contamination to a minimum.
